Barry,

I'm not trying to knock acidity/base management, because I
think it's a good idea, but my impression was that OA is
primarily a problem of cartilage degradation rather than
any problem with the bones -- I think the bone damage that
arises is just a consequence of the mechanical problems
from the lack of cartilage. So with OA it may be more
important to consider issues with chondroitin and stuff
like that? But I don't know, is it possible that keeping a
good acid/base balance can help to prevent the secondary
bone damage?
