Right here, on the third rock.

Pond scum is the ancestor of all living things on this mud ball.  It took
1.5 billion years (of this orb's existence) to create slime.  It took
another 4 billion trips around Sol to turn that slime into you (and me).
For all but a hair's-breadth of that time-line, life was lived at tropical
room temperature or less.
