Or maybe it is because they have a glycemic index of 105 compared to 100 for
pure glucose. Ripe bananas are about 70 to 75 and an apple around 40.

My experience exactly. I don't know why, but there is
something in the *flavor* of dates that keeps me
coming back for more. It can't just be the sugar,
because I can control myself with other sweet fruits
very well. So, I guess it's the flavor....
