Well, in the event that such a study were ever published, and it showed a
reduced cancer risk for mainly-meat-with-some-veggies eaters, we can at least
be confident that over on the vegetarian mailing lists, they'll be saying,

"Now ain't this a hoot? Something tells me these folks may have been funded
by the beef industry!"
