According to the USDA website, walnuts have an n-3:n-6 ratio of around 1:4
and have significant amounts of each. Macadamias and avocados have little
of either n-3 or n-6; their fats are predominantly monounsaturated.

Nuts are so convenient: protected (in their shell), keep over winter,
nourishing. Beats me how people could be allergic (now) to what I reckon
should have been a staple (then) for those people who lived in areas where
nuts grew.
