I thought you might find this interesting. Make you wonder if this is
what
triggers kids to eat crayons. My source for this is a weekly trivia
digest
so I cannot attest to the accuracy.

The distinctive smell that you experience upon opening a box of
crayons
actually comes from stearic acid, which is the formal name for
processed
beef fat.
