Okay, I've been going on and off paleo for several
years: I feel better when I do paleo, but still manage
to feel deprived and yield to temptation. And I will
say this is one area where I have to agree with
Neanderthin: once I taste the forbidden foods, it's
all over.

My latest attempt to do it right is inspired by a
diagnosis of osteoarthritis. Are there any specific
relevant suggestions any one has?

Also, I've been tracking my diet on Fitday. After 50
years of eating too much of the wrong things, I don't
want to rely on instinct to get the nutrients I need:
it might take me another 50 to get it right. And what
I notice is that I'm over the RDA on most
micronutrients, but consistently come up short on
calcium, zinc, magnesium and Vitamin D. I refuse to
worry about the D, since I do spend time in the
sunshine. But for the other three, is the RDA
realistic? If so, what are the best paleosources?

I have found in the past that I seem to feel best if I
get approximately 60% of my calories from fat, 30%
from protein, and 10% carbohydrates (nuts, berries,
and non-starchy veges.) I'm curious how this compares
with anyone else who has tracked their proportions.

Andrea
