Hi Everyone,

It may also be relevant that one has to eat 400 g of potato or 1 kg carrots
to get 250 calories but only 100 g bread (round figures). People find it
difficult to eat so much bulk (its too satiating).  Most tubers are not as
starchy as potatoes and yield much less energy.  If hunter-gatherers needed
3000 cal a day, they wouldn't get a great deal of this from tubers.
