Barbara,

Thanks for the reply. The reason I like to use tofu in a smoothie is
because it provides both nutrition and creaminess, as you mentioned. Plus
it's very convenient, and much cheaper than using a store bought dairy free
dessert (i.e. Rice Dream ice cream) as the base. My kids love a strawberry
smoothie made with tofu, but that was before I found out about my
daughter's fruit intolerance. Now I'd like to be able to make something
just as refreshing, but fruit free.

Is your frozen dessert mix available in stores or is it still in the
pre-marketing stage? Also, I wonder why you have eliminated fruit from
your diet. It's really tough to feel right not giving my daughter fruit.
She does not react strongly to it, atleast not outwardly. She did have
very prominent dark circles under her eyes which have lightened up since
eliminating fruit from her diet. My N.D. says that 20 percent of the
people she tests for food intolerances turn out to be fruit intolerant.
You just don't hear about fruit intolerances like you do so many other
foods. I'm just curious about your situation. Feel free to email me
privately if this is too much off the topic for our no-milk readers.

Denise
