I've been undergoing a series of allergy testing since I an episode of
anaphylactic shock while on vacation in August. We think we finally found the
answer, and it's not anything I ever would have guessed.

I'm allergic to e. coli, strep, and another bacteria -- all of which normally
inhabit the human body in the sinuses, gut, etc.

The RAST testing for foods and environmentals came up negative across the
board, so we know it's invalid since I react positively on scratch test to some
of the things they tested for. So frustrating! Consequently, the allergist
tested for bacteria.

I'm starting weekly allergy shots for the bacteria.

Since I've had problems for many, many years with irritable bowel, I'm really
interested to see how many of those symptoms have been an allergy to the
bacteria in the gut.

It's one more piece in the puzzle. Anyone else ever heard of this?
