Hi Elizabeth,
No, I have never been tested for food allergies. As a matter of fact I
don't believe I have any allergies to food, at least none that bothers me.
My big problem is my short bowel and my crohn's disease. It makes it very
hard to digest a lot of foods that to most people don't cause any problems.
That is besides the milk intolerance.
I have to be very careful with fruits and vegetables. I cannot have a lot
of roughage in my diet, and also whatever else is in some fruits that make
for extra intestinal motility. My gut has all the motility it needs by
itself, without any help from fruits and veggies. :-)
Meats in general don't bother me. It is one of the things I can usually
eat without having to worry about it. Especially if nothing is hidden in
the preparation that might be on my no-no list.
I should probably be on a "boiled dinner" diet everyday. I would probably
have less intestinal problems. But I'd be bored to death.
When you say you are allergic to beef, what do you mean? What kind of
allergic reaction do you get?
I would guess that if there is tyramine in beef it must be very, very
little. I'm just saying this based on my symptoms with soy and beef. With
beef, like I said, I have no problem, but it could be all due to a
different reason, since we don't know why my gut reacts sometimes to the
soy. MAYBE it is the tyramine, but who knows!
I hope your testing of the "free of everything" beef works out ok, and you
are not sick from it. Good luck.
Take care and stay well,
Monica
