Simon,

I am so amazed what some peoples' definition of dairy is. They assume if
there is no milk, then there is no dairy. People forget that cheese, sour
cream, cream cheese and other items (which are so obviously dairy to those
of us who have to watch for them) are DAIRY! Not to long ago we were
visiting my sister and her family. She had prepared some frozen french
toast for my son (who is dairy allergic) without checking with me first.
When I noticed what he was eating she assured me it was dairy free. I
decided to check the label anyway and sure enough it contained whey. I
realize it's not one of those obvious dairy ingredients to the average
person, but dairy nonetheless. Needless to say her entire family got a
lesson on what is and what is not dairy.

You are so very right - we just have to keep vigilant.

Warm wishes,
Debby
