I asked the OU for clarification on the Duncan Hines mixes.  See their second response below.  OU seems to be convinced that the mixes are correctly labeled.  I don't know???!!!

Dear Ms. Sheeley,
Thank you for checking with the OU regarding your Kashruth question.
If these mixes are, indeed, processed on the same equipment as dairy products the equipment would be kashered between runs. 
The mixes would be marked as OU-D if they would have been made on dairy equipment without being kashered.
You need not be concerned about the kashruth of this product.
