If it takes 24-48 hours for the symptoms to develope, I (a layman) do not
think lactose intolerence is the problem.  Lactose intolerence in the
inability to digest lactose in the stomach, and takes a few hours.  Very
often, people use 'Lactose Intolerence' as a generic catch-all for any
problem digesting dairy. Her problem could be in the large intestine.

Sounds like an allergy, or an inability to digest milk products.  At any
rate, avoidance is the best policy
