this was one of our concerns because my son, even though he's breastfed,
has been slow to gain weight...not from being taken off dairy, but from
when he did have some dairy foods in his diet which caused him to lose
iron/nutrients through intestinal bleeding. anyway, my la leche league
leader gave me some ideas to keep fat/calories in his diet. this is off
the top of my head and since it's second hand, do NOT hold LLL responsible
for my poor memory:

nuts, if he can have them, but not peanuts at this age of course. cashew
 butter is a good choice, but i've found that it has a strong flavor for him
avocado
beans
you can try to cook some of his foods with a little oil too.
and isn't soymilk itself a fairly good source of fat? i don't have any
 labels here to look at.

sorry i can't remember more, it's early and i'm not at home with my info.
but my point is - there are other foods that have the fat that babies need,
it's just a little harder to list them since most people are trying to
come up with LOW fat lists of foods :)
