That's the trouble with having exceptional children! When your child
is in the tails of the curve - the "allergic 2%" - conventional
wisdom does not apply, so many doctors, pediatricians, and,
unbelievably, even some allergists, have little or nothing to offer.
You could work to try and prove otherwise, but that comes at your
child's expense. It the doc doesn't get it, it's time to consider
getting a new doc.

If it's any consolation, your efforts might eventually convert a few.
One of our most adamant allergists who denied a link for eczema and
food allergies is now an active proponent.

If anybody told you parenting would be a breeze, they certainly did
not get a very complete picture.
