Is it a tomato based sauce? Not to say that it's the same issue, but perhaps it
is worthwhile me mentioning that my son has had problems with tomatoes and
onions, both of which are found in most pasta sauces. The onions upset his
intestinal tract, giving him lots of gas (likely because of the high sugar
content in a different form than other veggies from what I've read), while
tomatoes give him a nasty rash on his backside (which started as an infant and
continue now that he's six). If you're trying to figure it out, you may want to
consider the possibility that it's a delayed response if it is mainly intestinal
and look to the previous day's menu.

FWIW, my son isn't the one with the dairy problems. It's me. I don't eat pasta
sauces anymore since most of them have cheese, and I find I also have intestinal
problems with tomatoes. I've periodically wondered if it's the preservative,
calcium chloride, but perhaps it is just the tomatoes themselves. I'm not
willing to try to figure it out right now.
