I agree to be careful here. My son Zack has such a severe allergy to milk
that even the smell sets him off and I had a Nutritionist that recommended
Carnation Good Start as a suitable formula. This is a milk based product
here in Canada. You still have to be your own detective! I wouldnt worry
about the weight as long as the child is healthy. Remember that small
doesn't necessarily mean unhealthy!

On the related thread, Zack drank Nutramigen for almost a year with no
adverse affects. My allergist advised we try it because its meant for milk
allergic children because the proteins have been broken down/rendered
harmless for some. And I stress for some! What worked for one allergic
person may not work for others. Proceed with caution. The first time Zack
tried Nutramigen he was in a controlled enviornment for several hours under
constant observation. But like Mark's situation, as Zack got older he lost
his taste for it so to speak, I believe he spit it at my husband one day to
get his point across. So we are onto Rice Dream Vanilla Drink with Calmag
calcium supplements now. Best of Luck!
