Carrie,
Thanks for the suggestion. I would love to brest feed again. I did until he
was 2 months, but he still got ill from me. I guess all the stuff I ate
filtered through to him. He is now on NEOCATE. Let me tell you it's
expensive. It's about $135 per four cans. This is the 4th formula the
doctors have told us to try.

We consulted his doctor before giving him foods. I did try cereal at four
months. But, quit. Then at almost six months I tried only the stage one
pureed veggies only one at a time. But, maybe you're right. His stomach
could've been overly sensitive because he was having reactions to the
formula. The veggies could've irritated it further. They are now screening
him for food allergies. They did an upper GI and kidney ultrasounds last
week to rule out physical problems.

I am hoping that he will grow out of this. He really seems interested in
eating foods. He has since we started them. I watched for all the tell-tell
signs. I really thought he was ready. The doctor (the GI specialist) is
saying that we might have to wait until after a year to introduce foods. My
question is: Will this effect him socially. Finger foods are a part of his
development. Manipulating finger foods helps motor development. It's also
getting him ready to gradually move on to other foods. I'm hoping by keeping
him from foods, any foods, that this doesn't cause any delays. I have
noticed that he has seemed to be falling behind in some of his development
since he's been so sick.

Did this effect your children?

By the way, how do you access archives of information regarding various
topics on this sight?

Thanks, Elaine
