Catherine (at about five months) also thought her first mouthul was FOUL!
But we were desperate because she was more intolerant of soy than milk
formula so I tried chilling it (in my experience very cold things taste
less) and it worked. As she got older she used to like choosing her own
bottle from the 'frig and always made sure it was really really really
cold.

This in my first post - so 'hello from New Zealand'. Catherine (now aged 4
1/2) is allergic to something or maybe more than one something and we're
trying to figure out what. I suspect milk, and am sure about lanolin and
strawberries. She's had three acute reactions (covered in an itchy
rash/hives
that have needed prednisone to settle) in the last three weeks. Two were
from strawberries (it's summer here folks) but the other I think was whole
milk. She's still got the last rash, but we're out of time on the
prednisone so she'll have to hang tough!

Now we're trying Nalcrom - does anyone have experience of this?

Catherine also has asthma and uses Vicrom four times a day regularly and
Ventolin as required, when the asthma flares up we add claratyne, Flixotide
and regular Ventolin. If that isn't working we add Prednisone. It seems
to be relatively manageable - she's only been hospitalised once. Scary
thing with Catherine's asthma is that the acute episodes come on so fast -
three hours between being fine (according to our doctor) and in hospital.

About the person who was talking about cinnamon allergy - I can't tolerate
peppermint, it gives me a pounding headache everytime.

Regards
Jane
