I, for one, can't answer that question scientifically. However, based on
personal experience, it's an open question. I reacted to Lactaid 100%
lactose free milk. On the other hand, I don't seem to have any adverse
effects from eating Lacteeze lactose free ice cream or Frugal & Grbac
lactose-free cheeses. The ice cream tastes and looks like ice cream. The
cheeses taste, look and smell like cheese (but the lower fat, more rubbery
kind of cheese!!).
