Interesting---and although I/we have not actually TRIED it (and now I don't know WHY we haven't) I heard a quick way was to put a portion of the suspect food IN THE BEND OF THE ELBOW and watch for redness/irritation. No lab fees!

He said that this is the poor man's way of testing for food allergies!

Take your pulse for one minute
eat the food
wait 15 minutes
take your pulse again and if it's 15 points higher than the first time, then
you are reacting to that food
