I can only speak for myself. I had to ask my Doctor to prescribe lactose
free medications. It's amazing how many use lactose as filler. My Doctor
knew I was LI and still prescribed the medication. I finally had to ask him
because I was reacting to something and the only possibility was my meds.
He said "Oh yeah" and never acknowledged he should have known better. I
suggest you avoid the meds with lactose just to be safe. I imagine it is
possible to tolerate lactose but not other milk elements. That being said
you don't know what other milk proteins might be present. I doubt the
manufacturer would worry about other milk contaminants in the lactose.
