Kim,

Just because you test negative for milk allergies doesn't mean she doesn't
have an intolerance to it. There is a difference. My son isn't technically
allergic but he is intolerant and will get similar symptoms as your daughter.
Trace amounts of milk are just that, trace amounts. There probably isn't
enough intact proteins in the food she was eating to do any harm. When you
give her actual milk, then there are. My son is the same way. He is
intolerant to the protein. He actually has a condition that has been
diagnosed that causes him to be "allergic" (for lack of a better term
although it's not a histimine response reaction) to milk. Talk to the GI
Specialist about this. I would just avoid the whole milk. Why rock the boat?
If she does fine on soy or some other substitute then there is no law written
that she has to have milk from a cow. Just my two cents worth.
