: I can't remember if this is a dairy product, can you all help?

I believe this is from of seaweed, and non-dairy. Alyssa's never reacted
to it.

: My 2nd question for you all is how do you cope with the dailyness of diary
: allergy? I have honed my skills and can do the shopping in 1 1/2 hrs now -
: it used to take 3!!

It took me about 6 months to really figure things out, and find brands and
recipes that work. Now, I can add to that as Alyssa grows and her tastes
change. It's hard, but it becomes just what we do... I've used alot of
vegan recipes, too, as Alyssa is also allergic to eggs. Have to watch out
for nuts and peanuts, though.

I'm a working mom, and I do make most foods from scratch. I usually cook
ALOT on Sundays - we joke about the water usage, as it's laundry day at
our house, and the dishwasher goes several times! Muffins, pancakes, breads,
sweets, go in the freezer in individual bags for lunches. I usually make
a pot of soup or a couple of salads (pasta/rice based). These we take for
lunch, and have once or twice for supper. Then, I use quick easy meal ideas
for the other week nights.

Fortunately, I enjoy cooking and baking, so it doesn't seem too bad. I
never thought I'd be a strict no-fast-food Mom, but I am - for a very different
reason than some! We don't eat out much, and when we do, I take Alyssa's
food along (she tends to likes very smooth bland food, which is hard to find in
a restaurant anyway...). No drive-through TacoBell for us...

Laurie (and Alyssa, 4.75yo, allergic to dairy, eggs, peanuts and walnuts)

: I haven't been around lately so I don't know if anyone has covered this.
: Last time I checked smarties had dairy in it!

I'm quite sure the Smarties around here don't - maybe a regional difference?
They're a good safe treat for Alyssa... inexpensive and not a huge amount of candy.
Easy to give a package to friends, etc.
