I have adult-onset dairy allergy and lactose intolerance. My son, now 11
years old, has been anaphylactically allergic to milk, eggs, and all nuts
since birth. It is indeed very frustrating, but with a lot of work and a
positive attitude, he has grown up to feel "normal with limitations", not
abnormal. We work hard to identify special treats that he can eat, and he
trusts that if there is something special that he can't have (e.g.,
cupcakes at school), that we'll make up for it later with a special treat.

Good luck, and feel free to write back.

Mark
