That would apply to other *chewable* calcium carbonate supplements, but
not necessarily to other pill form calcium carbonate, which may be coated
to dissolve somewhere other than the stomach.  (This is all speculation,
btw, I don't know how pill form calcium carbonate works.)  I have read,
however, that taking too much Tums if you do not really have excess stomach
acid will lower the pH of your stomach to levels where other nutrients may
not be properly digested.  I'll try to find some references.
