Yep, When you take the whey from cheesemaking and dry it its about 70%
lactose.
If it is refined to recover the whey protein sometimes called whey protein
isolate WPI then pretty much all lactose is removed. But its a fairly
expensive process and they don't bother if they dont need to....I've found
its best to avoid whey altogether. It can be dynamite if your LI. :)
