Jill,
Not all machines are not ideal for gluten free recipes. In addition, one
of the recommendations is to stand over a first time attempt to ensure it
doesn't rise over the pan. (You puncture it to pop the air bubbles.) Yes,
it has happened to me before. What a mess. Oh, well. Live and learn. <g>
