Listmates,

This may seem an odd question but I really want to
know the answer.

I have been using the different kosher markings on
products for some time but have not had much
spoken conversation using the terms. Please
clarify the following:

I know that both spellings parve and pareve are
acceptable. Please describe the pronunciation of
the words.

Are pronunciations the same spelled either way?

Is it parve......as in rhymes with carve?

Is it par (as in golf) ....vey (rhymes with way)?

Thanks to those who can help :)

Deborah
