"We have just finished Melancholia: The Diagnosis, Pathophysiology and
Treatment of Depressive Illness. It took us three years and is more than
800 pages in typescript. It challenges the DSM-IV division of mood
disorders into major depression and bipolar disorders, offering a
simplified classification, much like
the simplified classification of catatonia offered in an earlier book. It
has been
sent to Cambridge University Press," he said. "We plan to have it out in
March 2006, in time for a major international meeting on melancholia to be
held in Copenhagen in May."
