"When someone is repeatedly described as something, language has
quietly paved the way for violent action."

http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/12/21/what-if-we-occupied-language/

( to make the point explicit, for we who experience mood swings,
fear, voices and visions, we are not our DSM codes, not our labels
... and it is this turning us into objects that has created the
violence of forced psychiatry, making palatable that force can be
renamed as treatment. Sylvia)
