Throw Your Weight Behind APRC-Secy Touray Tells Constituents
Monday 19th September 2005

By Modou Sanyang

Barely few days to the September 29 by-elections, the Secretary of State for Agriculture has told the constituents of Serekunda Central that the “numerous” development projects accomplished by the APRC government are there for everyone to see and should therefore rally behind the party.

Yankuba Touray added that since assuming power some 11 years ago, President Jammeh and his government have relentlessly endeavoured to improve the quality of life of the Gambia people. He therefore believed that if politics is all about development, then his party’s candidate is the right choice for Serekunda Central in the forth-coming by-elections.

Addressing a sizeable crowd in Serekunda Central on Friday, Secy Touray assured the people of the constituency that if they vote the APRC candidate into the National Assembly, the party’s doors will always be opened to them to cater for their needs.

He finally called on them to vote for the APRC candidate, saying that Serekunda Central needs an “action man” and not a constitution and debt interpreter.

Also speaking at the rally, the APRC-sponsored candidate, Lai Sanyang, said he has always been a servant and would continue his “good” work for the people of Serekunda Central.

Sanyang told the rally that all the development projects in Serekunda Central were initiated by the APRC and consequently called on the constituents to reward the party by massively voting for its candidate in the by-elections.

Kitim Gibba, APRC constituency Chairman, in his address, warned the IEC to refrain from barring voters that have in possession voters cards from voting in the coming by-elections.
