News reached me this morning that a meeting held yesterday at
The Banjul city
Councils Mayors chamber organized and chaired by the Mayor of
Banjul ,the group
agreed to call off the hunger strike. The main reason given for
this move is
that due to the worsening load shedding by Nawec and the fear
that most of the
meat kept will become uneatable after some days. One of the most
outspoken
persons was Pa Jagne of Prime Insurance who reminded the group
that the meat
could still be preserved by using the method of <katinde> and
this motion was
also supported by Bai Ndongo Faal of Gamsta insurance. It was
also understood
that Beran Jeng, Malick Jeng and Dr Alh Jeng endorsed the
motion.
