Ramou Hall/Alagie Senghore
Basse, Upper River Division

The President Alahji Yahya Jammeh has declared three-days of mourning
beginning today Friday through Sunday 16th September following the heinous
and barbaric attacks on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon in the
United States of America on Tuesday.

According to a press release from State House, President Jammeh's decision
is meant to re-affirm his solidarity with the government and people of the
USA, and victims of this disaster. During the three- day mourning all flags
will be flown at half-mast.

The Muslim community is being urged to devote Friday 14th September as a day
of prayers in all mosques for the victims and their families. Likewise, the
Christian community will offer prayers in all Churches and Holy Places on
Sunday. In this regard, the APRC Party, being a party that believes in and
cherishes world peace and love, will cease all political activities during
the three days.

As party leader, the President urges all APRC militants to cancel and
postpone all meetings that were arranged from Friday 14th September to
Sunday 16th September.

Meanwhile the national conference of chiefs scheduled to take place in Basse
from today to Sunday will be held as planned.

According to a press release from the Department of State for Local
Government and Lands, the President Alhaji Yahya Jammeh will perform the
official opening. All Divisional Commissioners, District Chiefs and the
general public are being informed accordingly.

PEACE

TOMBONG
