IFANG BONDI - TOUR DATES 2000 - IFANG BONDI - TOUR DATES 2000
With the first 15,000 km under their belt touring Switzerland, UK, Holland &
Germany - culminating in a show at London's prestigious Queen Elizabeth Hall
packed with fans - Gambia's legendary roots pioneers IFANG BONDI are now off to
rock Scandinavia.

Danish fans are in for a special treat: besides a concert in Vega on 4 Aug,
Ifang Bondi will present a special 'unplugged' traditional show - billed as
'TIRAMAKHAN ENSEMBLE' at the Folkets Park on 5 Aug.

The Tiramakhan Ensemble, featuring kora virtuoso Jali Momodou Suso, backed up
by Badou Jobe on 2nd kora, finds the members of Ifang Bondi equally at home
with their Manding classics.

Riti wizard Juldeh Camara puts the audience under the spell of his Fulani magic
whilst singer El Hadj Samb gives a sample of awesome Wolof vocalising from the
pre-mbalax era. West African music tradition at its best and most beautiful!
To complete the picture Ifang Bondi will do 2 street percussion shows - 'SABAR
REK' - in which the band's ace percussionist Bassirou Mbaye takes his fellow
musicians on a break-neck drive along Senegambia's devil rhythms.
