Gambia-L,

This may sound like a case of impersonation but it is not. It is merely a breach of trust in which I, the fool, became the victim. I am now aware that two mails were sent to the List and one privately which bore my name as the sender. One of the mails to the List was in reference to The Ebou Jallow's "Nes" and the other was about something referring to Alajie Kanteh's allegation of Foday Makalo's fate. The other was sent privately to Dave Manneh about an issue that I will NEVER in my life comment on. My age, my preoccupation and my little experience do not allow me the geniality to indulge in those matters.

I wish to inform the entire Gambia-L that, though the mails do came from my computer, I was not the author of any one of them. For the past two months I have hardly time to chat with my wife and child at home much less to sit down and compose mails that neither add nor subtract a jot to my conviction. Looking at my "Sent Items Folder", I have sent 3 (Three) private mails to members of the Gambia-L in the past two months. One was to Tony Cisse about an enquiry he made to the List. One to Latjor Ndow last Sunday about the live-chat with Ousainou Darboe. One was to Alpha Robinson in relation with the Ebou Jallow story. My only posting to the List was my response to Yusupha Jow's mail that the young Scorpions have eliminated young Ghana from the Under-17 qualifications.

What exactly happened is that I had a visitor in my house, for three very long weeks, who wanted to consult her mails from Hotmail.com. I allowed her to login on my computer at any time and look at her mailbox. She could also visit quantum.net she wants, to read the news and newspapers back home. It has never crossed my mind that my guest will interfere with my private correspondence. She did not only sent a private mail to Dave Manneh about something involving Jabou Joh and some obscure woman on the list but also to the List about Ebou Jallow's involvement in drugs and counterfeiting. I, personally, do not have anything to contribute to these topics.

I owe Daddy Sang a big "thank You" for inadvertently bringing it to my notice. I read Daddy Sang's posting replying to Dave Manneh about the use of the word "Paddy" and after searching through my inbox for the original postings, I could not find any. I contacted a list member who informed me that it was about a piece I sent to Dave Manneh. I told him that I did not send any mail to Dave and this mail is neither in my "Inbox folder" nor in my "Sent Items Folder" and I was certain that I did not "clean" my mails for the past two months. This contact sent me Dave Manneh's posting with an attachment of what was supposed to have been my posting. When I told my visitor about it, she promptly confessed to me that she sent it and because she was not a member of the list she decided to put name as the sender. That was really the straw that broke the camel's back. What, thereafter, happened between me and my guest, I will leave to you to guess.

Although I was taken aback by the rancour with which Dave replied to that piece, I nevertheless do not have any malice towards him, simply because Dave said in his piece that he does not know me. Those who know me, both friends and enemies, will vouchsafe that I am not a person who speaks behind the backs of others. I have umpteen times intervened on this forum to pacify people when I " smell bad blood". Many members on this list have received a private mail from me appealing and sometimes even begging them to stop the bickering and concentrate on the course of redeeming our beloved nation. The main purpose I joined this forum is to seek a way to rescue our country from degeneration.

For the use of the word "Paddy", I will only like to refer Dave to the true etymology of the word, and since I and my guest are not British and Dave is certainly not Irish, the word "paddy" should be taken entirely in its Gambian sense. However, I would like to apologise to Dave Manneh for any distress the name, "paddy", might have caused him.

You people can disregard the mail asking Ebou Jallow about his involvement in drugs dealing and counterfeit. With Ebou Jallow, my only the concern as a Gambian citizen is the TRUTH about my $2.35 share of the $3.million. I have followed Ebou Jallow and M.L Jasseh-Conteh on this issue at another forum where it was handled with less innuendoes and more insinuations than what I have read on Gambia-L. Living in the only city in Europe where at certain times of the day, it could be easier to buy "dope" than a pack of cigarettes, who am I to worry about Ebou Jallow's and/ or Yahya Jammeh's drug involvement? Although Ebou Jallow has repeatedly wrote about Yahya Jammeh's counterfeit practices, I have no desire to know anymore about it than what he is saying.

I hope, by this piece, I have made myself perfectly clear. So, let us all put heads together and rid our country of the destructive element, better known as Yahya Jemus Jammeh.

Prince Coker
