Hi Hamjatta!
No, I have not been keeping printouts of your posts. In fact, I very rarely print out Gambia-L posts. I just read them on the computer screen. I quoted from around 5 or so of your posts which were sent around the same period - 3 during the by-election period, one you sent in July same year and one in August the year before I think (I remember this one because I quoted it an an earlier discussion we had). I remember not only what you, Hamjatta, post about certain issues but what many other people post about certain issues especially when they are about big events such as the by-elections or the ALD conference etc. I remembered the position you took during the by-elections and just checked the archives.

If I were into printing and storing Gambia-l posts, I would not hesitate to print out and save some of your posts. I have given you complements here on the L and I truly believe that you are an intelligent person with a lot of potential. I have advised you before to avoid writing good pieces and putting in phrases or sentences that might be deemed personal and thus undermining the purpose of writing. I did this in good faith because I see you spend so much time writing good articles the essence of which gets lost because people get hung up on the side issues contained in the article.

Buharry, this is a very serious question and in all fairness, you at least owe me an answer to that. You sent in a plethora of questions, i diligently took my precious time and answered them as best as i could. Yet, i posed just ONE question and you wish to wriggle out of it by disregarding the seriouness behind the question simply because i used the phrase "humour me"??!! That is very disappointing to say the least. The phrase you just objected to - "humour me" - doesn't in any way stand for jocularity or lack of seriousness; rather, it is a light hearted and, indeed, polite way of asking you to answer a very simple question. I hope now that i've clarified the point you will take the occasion to answer the question."

Please don't start guessing or assuming that I want to wriggle out of answering your question. You asked me to humour you by answering a question and I told you that I don't humour especially on serious issues and you assume I am trying to wriggle out of answering your question. That is very wrong. If you had asked me to give you an example of where I differ with a PDOIS stance, you would have received the answer when I replied. I had no way of knowing that you were serious about getting an answer when you requested that I humour you. Now that you have clarified that you were serious in asking the question, I'll give you an answer.

I did not agree with the PDOIS stance on the London meeting and how they handled the whole issue and Momodou Mboge can verify this for you because I had some discussions with him on this issue. I would have handled the whole saga differently. So Hamjatta, here is an example of where I did not agree with how PDOIS handled things.

Have a good day.
