Ghana has traditionally been the best U17 team in the world, bar none.
Welll, the young Scorpions just did the unthinkable by knocking them out of
the next U17 WC qualifiers. Below is the excerpt:

shock news for Ghana:
in the prestigious U17 Afrcan championships which serve also as qualifiers
for the U17 World Championships Ghana has been knocked out in an early stage
knock out round by Gambia! The tiny West Affrican state's selection had won
the first leg at home 1:0 and achieved a 1:1 draw Saturday at Ghana. What
sounds like a joke has been reported by CAF-online and the Panafrican News
Agency. Ghana had been the most successful nation of the world at this level
along with Nigeria and Brazil. The Nigerians escaped a similar scenario when
they made up a 0:2 deficit from the first leg at Senegal by beating their
opponents at home 3:0.
South Africa, scared by a 1:2 loss in the first leg at little Equatorial
Guinea, were helped by their opponents: they did not arrive at the stadium of
the second leg. The case still has to be investigated on.
