You made me laugh. Thanks for the considerations and advice. I am humbled by your kind brotherly words and concern.
In deed with that GRTS fabrication, I was shocked when I heard it after leaving. It was Tomobong Saidy the Director General at them time who cooked up the lies that I took away money from GRTS and Business People.
From the onset my that "Business Forum" program attracted jealousy as it was seen as means of enriching myself. I was accused of taking money from any business person I interviewed. I ignored the gossips as I have a thick skin. Even if I show a close up of a person, they said I was advertising that person.
Actually I crashed with Tomobong Saidy several times. He has no idea about TV and wanted to win President Jammeh's heart with lie. He even accused me of "UNDERMINING THE AUTHORITY OF PRESIDENT JAMMEH." I have it in writing!
This pissed me off. So once I left unannounced, he spread the lies.
I actually I heard the rumor from DEYDA HYDARA (RIP).
After arriving in Germany in 1998, I rushed to Hong Kong and then returned to Germany. During a phone conversations with Dida and he told me he heard that I left with GRTS and Business people money.
I asked:
a) WHY DIDN'T GRTS or THE GAMBIAN GOVERNMENT issue a press release accusing me absconding with the monies or committing the said crime?
b) What didn't the said business people speak to the independent media/media about it?
c) Why didn't any one dragged me to court?
Before I got my papers, The German Government did through investigation into my background through its Foreign Ministry In Berlin and Consulate In Banjul. They wanted to know if I am wanted in The Gambia for any economic or political crimes that they cannot entertain. If at all GRTS and the lies were true, I would not have been naturalized by now.
Even the so called new wanted list that has my name is there because of my criticism of Jammeh on the online papers and not to do with the GRTS/Tomobng Saidy lies as Jammeh later knew the truth behind my departure from GRTS.
That said, after speaking with Dida Hydara I wrote a powerful worded letter and copied it to:
a) PRESIDENT JAMMEH,State House
b) BAKARY NJIE (Gamtel MD of the time)
c) GRTS DG (Tomonong Saidy at the time)
d) BORA MBODEGE, MOMODOU SANYANG, GRTS STAFF.
Thanks to God Fatou Mass JOBE the current Minister of Tourism and Culture who was at the time with Standard Chartered Bank vouched for me that the allegations that I used money from her bank (as referred to in one of the lies by Tombong) was not true.
It now 13 years (Thirteen Years) since I left The Gambia and I am still waiting for them to sue me or prove their allegations before a serious court of law. They are free to do it with mew in absentia and they do not have to wait until they see me on the streets of The Gambia.
After that when Bora Modge was made DG I wrote him to congratulate him. I prayed for him to complete his tenure without any accusation of wrong doing. My prayers for him did got answered.
Before that I wrote a separate letter to Tombong Saidy telling him to be careful and he would face poetic justice for trying to smear my name and mix up my good rapport with Jammeh.
Anyway I understand the risk of investing in Jammeh's Gambia. It is actually the situation of Gambians that I consider.
The majoriy of Gambians cannot afford SUVs and GPTC served as reprieve.
Since most of the GPTC buses were made here in Germany by M.A.N (Maschinenfabrik Augsburg Nurenberg), I just need to activate my contacts with the:
a) Germany Federal Ministry of Foregin Affairs,
b) German Federal Ministry of Development Cooperation,
c) German Federal Ministry of Economy and Technology,
d) KfW and,
e) GIZ (formerly GTZ)
to continue from where they stopped with GPTC during the days of Ismaila Ceesay and co.
As a naturalized German citizen, I have the constitutional right to get export and investment guarantee from the German Government to cover some of the risks associated with investing in countries like The Gambia.
So if Jammeh seizes the new MAN buses from Germany it will not affect me. In fact the insurance will compensate me.
Am a shrewd capitalist and know how to dribble through.
With Hassan Touray and Co, they might have got Sarahulleh financiers and other backers but they did not have the clout and pedigree to show those who fought them the their limits.
Am not bluffing but I am not from a useless background and Jammeh will be mad to play with me and expect to sleep in peace.
Momdou Sanyang the current GRTS DG, Bora Mboge and I were in the same News and Current Affairs Department. Sanyang knows the claims that I left with GRTS and Business people money were wicked fabrications.
I understand he is now one of Jammeh's trusted confidants. I have a proposal for a TV show that I would like to produce for GRTS after the elections and I do not think Momodou Sanyang will be stupid to see it as problem. Anyway am careful still.
In toto, three things are motivating me for GPTC:
a) the welfare of the ordinary gambians who cannot afford SUVs,
b) the investment guarantees from the German Government and
c) my passion for GPTC as good investment asset.
But as you said I can ingore everything.
Besides Germany, I have contacts in Nnewi industrial town (Africa automobile city) in Anambra State of Nigeria. They manufacture/assemble buses that are suitable for the African Market. The current Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan officially opened one of their latest state of-the-art assembly plants last year.
I can get buses from them at good prices. I do not want to be an active transport operator.
Am the entrepreneur and creative type and not the manager/bureaucrat person.
I just want to be the supervisory Owner/Chairman/President bearing the financial and legal risks while the competent managers do the day-to-day operational things.
Anyway,I am ready to wait until the time is right. I have been waiting.
The technological institute we are currently building in The Gambia through Alikung Society will be enough for now.

Dear Prince,
It is very good to see your efforts of trying to participate in a way. I encourage you not to give up and you have my blessings. At least, I am not an expert in what you are looking for, but just trying to share with you some of the track-records of Jammeh's administration. I hope you don't mind me sharing my take.
Please if you have the means, purchase your own vehicles, call it whatever name you want, and operate it without having to muddy your own waters by getting close to Jammeh's administration. Stay as far a distance from Jammeh as you can. My conclusion at this is simple.
First, remember when you left GRTS for Germany, it was the same administration that confided with GRTS to accuse you of absconding money from Sarahulle businessmen. I personally never believed it but again run for your life...a bail might be waiting for you.
Second, remember those that tried including, as recent as the humble brothers from Texas (Abdurrahman and Hassan Touray) both tried and were hijacked by the very administration. They purely went home to participate. I have heard good things about them both and we can never press hard on them for going home to open a bio-metric company, but at least what happened to them remains a less for some of us to learn from.
Third, it is my humble view that Jammeh's administration must be left to "die like a wimp." Look, from my heart, those know me will tell you this: That I exercise a lot of leniency on even the wrong, but I am telling you that Jammeh's own is beyond any consideration in my heart.
Fourth, you know I love this prince Sankanu. The only jealousy I have is his prince title (Jokes). I can't stand these titles of kings, prince, etc...or at least not in their real applications in life. I hate to see you fall in the baits of this administration. The second jealousy that stuck me hard is that once you start business with this administration, they will have a certain control on you no matter how strong you are. Once that happens, it would mean the ordinary and the oppressed would lose one its vibrant members to Jammeh.
I still wish you well Prince and by the way, thanks for making this open, giving some of us the opportunity to express our feelings/opinions.
