Karamba,
The reaction of the secretary of state for foreign affairs to the
European union's declaration is not only factious nonsense but also reveals
his selfishness and lack of credibility.his statement is unfortunate and
outrageous in calling the EU statement''failed to realize that there is no
country where somebody is charged or accused for murder and yet allowed to
be bail''.The secretary of state for foreign affairs was to mislead both The
Gambian people and the international community which he has miserably failed
to do.It is a matter of fact that the APRC Government continued to liar to
the Gambian people and to the whole world that they are committed to
democracy and rule of law but not.
The EU knows very well the APRC regime the symbol of oppression is now
interfering in every aspect of gambian life-persecuting,harassing and
intimidating civil society and UDP supporters and sympathisers by every
possible means available to it.Even when the high court judge Yassin Sey
made an order that the continuous detention of Modou [Dumo] and others was
unconstitutional, the executive quickly and clandestinely rushed to appeal
in order to secure process to justify the detention when initially they
refused responsibility of holding them.Mr.Jobe should be ashamed to be
associated with the present climate of brutality where killing, torture and
wonton slaughter is the order of the day.
UDP will continue to condemn any act of brutality and unconstitutional
behavior.
I call on all human rights organizations who care for human dignity to
exert maximum pressure on the undemocratic APRC Government as to ensure
safety of all of the detainees and go and visit them to ascertain the degree
of physical and moral torture inflicted on Modou [Dumo] and others who are
kept incommunicado.
I am appealing to The Gambia red cross society and all human rights
organizations in thee Gambia to visit them.

Long live a free and democratic Gambia !
Down with dictatorship !

Saihou
