Honourable Fatou Jahumpa Ceesay

Good morning

Kindly allow me to address some issues which you have
raised in your reply.

You wrote;
"Please why dont you just give us a chance ,we are
only seven months in The National Assembly"

Honourable Fatou Jahumpa Ceesay

As a patriotic Gambian, I am concerned about this
latest initiative. If you complain about the fact that
you and many others have been members of the National
Assembly for just 7 months, then how about the Farmers
who have been waiting for almost 3 years for the
groundnuts to be bought by the Gambia Government?

Please take note that assuming the post of Member of
the National Assembly does not make way for the
availability of unjust privileges. There are so many
public and civil servants in the Gambia who are
finding it extremely difficult to survive with their
meagre wages taken into into account our level of
inflation. I find it absurd that none of you APRC
members of the National Assembly has ever thought of
tabling a motion for a salary increase for those
hardworking public and civil servants who are
extremely affected by the Government's poor record on
inflation. Instead of advocating for more privileges,
one would have expected some element of sincerity from
your end and start being pragmatic. Since all NAMs
have their salaries paid into their respective banks
why you can't apply to your Banks for a personal loan
which will be paid at the end of your 5 year term of
office.

"And we do carry our integrity and dignity"

I am praying that you do so for the benefit of The
Gambia as a whole. Notwithstanding your political
affiliation, I hope you will be brave enough to
cahllenge the Executive if it tries to make the
National Assembly a mere rubber stamp. I also hope
you will take this opportunity to introduce a Private
Members Bill calling for the repeal of the Media
Commission Act and the Indemnity Amendment Act 2002. I
also hope you will be sincere enough by advocating for
Justice Hassan Jallow's reinstatement as Judge of the
Supreme Court. FJC please use your parliamentary
privileges and fight against injustice. Try and table
a parliamentary question on the investigations into
the death of Koro Sisay. FJC please take advantage of
your current position and make a big difference, your
late Father IM Garba Jahumpa was a hero and we hope
you will follow his footsteps .

Finally you wrote;
"Please take it easy and no insults."

FJC

Please take note that I shall never insult you and
your colleagues at the National Assembly, it is not
part of my unbringing. All I require from you lot is
to be sincere with your tasks as Servants of the
Nation and NOT Masters of the nation. Remember that
power belongs to the people and power is also
transferable.

In your task as NAM, I urge you to be tolerant to your
adversaries who mean well for the Gambia.

Have a wonderful day

Your constituent in the disaspora
