I knew Joe as a soccer player back in The Gambia. Nothing else!

Here in the States, I read a lot from him as a postman, both on Gambia-L and
The Mighty Post. Finally, in May, 2003, I met him in person at a conference
in Washington during ALD festivities. I spoke to him briefly prior to the
commencement of the conference. It was a fruitful conversation. Then in
July/August of 2003, I had another opportunity to speak with him. This
time, on the phone.

So, what would I say about this dude?

Well, I find him to be very determined to bring about meaningful democratic
change in The Gambia. A Gambia where the rule of law and human rights are
upheld. And in so doing, he will engage any one, regardless of your
political affiliation. I never find him to be someone with a personal agenda
in the struggle that he's so vehemently engaged and rooted in. I admire his
candor.

Would I characterize Joe Sambou as a tirbalist? No. This man has a whole lot
to offer all facets of The Gambian society. He can communicate sensibly to
any Gambian grouping. Personally, I don't see any thing wrong with Joe
meeting Tejan "Eku Bopa" Ceesay. These two fellows can discuss issues
outside of politics. Above all, Joe is a Gambian and Tejan is here
representing all Gambians. It's very important that we rise above petty
politics. Matured politicking will lead us to a civilized nation.

I hope all sides will adhere to the principles of decent dialogue.

Seedy

Taf, you know your ignorance is beyond comprehension. I see you now have a
new hustle. Please continue to be a Welfare King in Sweden. Even that
donut in Conteh has realized the lie he started was just that, a malicious
lie. Conteh has met me on several occasions and know what I am made off.
He was just trying to launch his campaign at my expense. Yaya has been in
power for 10 years, how come you just started mouthing off just last year?
It is funny that an ignoramus like you will stand here to spread this
garbage. However, when I meet your nephew, Omar in Atlanta at the
Conferences, he never failed to thank me for my resolve. You see Taf, I do
not just sit on my keyboard to sound off. I complement it with action from
my neighborhood to anywhere the Gambian struggle takes me. Now, what do you
do around you and elsewhere? Where has anyone seen Jobou in anything? No,
you do not see her any where but just hear her mouth on cyberspace. I met
Conteh in a couple of conferences/demonstrations. Thus, my actions speak
for me. I am telling you'll off not because I have anything to prove to you
knuckleheads, but to show you that your nonsense will not be tolerated.
Gambians know that they can depend on Joe any day, thus, I canvas this US of
A to join others in the struggle to build something. Nothing is built
sitting and just letting out like a canon, and you knuckleheads need to
understand that. As for the Black Widow, she cannot function in anything
that Gambians form because of her controlling nature. Thus, she embarks on
manipulation and vindictiveness.

Now I know how dissapointed you'll where when I called on Radio Tam Tam,
thrice and Gambians heard what I said there and that is what is important,
not what ignoramuses want to believe. For you to inject cynicism by my
participation says volumes about you. In your twisted mind, Joe's
participation reduces your grandeur. However, since that is you all's new
hustle that you want to guard with your life, I shall only listen to the
program to save you the agony. At the end of the day it is action that will
change our situation, not just talk. And certainly, the Senegalese
community is not who is going to fight this fight for us, but Gambians
everywhere. And I am glad that there are Gambians that are dedicated to
active participation. In them I find good company.
