Subject: PhD to lecture at University of The Gambia.

        Friends
A bit of news which really delighted me! Paul Matthews travelled to
Janjang-Bureh with me in about 1991 when he was about 17 and a student and I
was a teacher at North Bromsgrove High School in the UK (near Birmingham).
We were all visiting our Link School which is Armitage Senior Secondary
School. Now he is just completing his PhD at the University of Edinburgh in
Scotland, and he has accepted an invitation to take up a post as lecturer in
Agriculture at the Universty of The Gambia from Septtember.

It would be a great surprise for him if a few L-ers could be kind
enough to send him greetings, congratulations, and welcome - you can mention
me if you like!

                                             Mike Carrick.
