Jewel Howard-Taylor, other leading Senatorial candidate Support Ellen Bong
County leading senatorial candidate, Mrs. Jewel Howard Taylor has given
her support to the Unity Party in the 8 November run-off presidential
elections.

She said Mrs. Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has a lot to move Liberians and their
country forward following 14 years of civil war. The former First Lady
said she will vigorously campaign for the Unity Party in Bong County to
ensure that it wins the 8 November run-off elections. Monrovia, Oct. 25-A
renowned Liberian corporate lawyer, Cllr. Varney Sherman has joined the
slogan that educated people failed Liberia.

Cllr. Sherman Concurs: Educated People Failed Liberia

The Coalition for the Transformation of Liberia (COTOL) standard bearer,
Cllr. Varney Sherman was speaking Monday when he declared his support for
George Manneh Weah, presidential candidate of the Congress for Democratic
Change (CDC).

Reading a statement at his Congo Town residence, Cllr. Sherman said he and
most senior officials of COTOL have decided to accept responsibility for
the plight of the Liberian people. “The mere fact that we are educated and
sophisticated, dictates that we should shoulder the responsibility for the
destitute circumstances of our people. While some educated and
sophisticated Liberians, we choose to ignore these accusations; but stand
firm against the political movements that have been created out of these
elections,

Former Independent Candidate Alarms about Threats on His Life

Monrovia, Oct. 25-A former independent presidential aspirant, Cllr. Marcus
Jones has reported that armed men have been pursuing him to kill him.
Addressing a new conference Monday, said armed men wearing masks early
Monday morning attacked his home in search of him. He said at about 4:00
a.m. five armed men in a white pick-up went to his Barnersville Old Field
residence in search for him; but disappointingly they did not meet him
home.
Varney Sherman Endorses Weah
In a major boost to the candidacy of George Oppong Weah, the standard
bearer of the Liberia Action Party, Cllr. Varney Sherman has thrown his
support behind the Coalition for Democratic Change standard bearer as his
choice for president in the ensuing run-off against Mrs. Ellen
Johnson-Sirleaf of the Unity Party.

Sherman made the pronouncement in a radio broadcast in Monrovia Monday:
"Accordingly, for the run-off election of November 8, I have decided to
cast my lot with Ambassador Weah and his congress for Democratic Change."
Sherman said, in taking side with the Congress for Democratic Change, he
is calling on all of LAP's partisans and supporters to join him in
supporting and campaigning for Weah to become the next President of
Liberia. The LAP standard bearer who finished fourth in the first round
with 7.8 percent of the vote pledged to utilize all of his resources to
ensure the Weah is elected.
