Latest news from Banjul say one of the detained NADD officials Omar Amadou
Jallow, alias (OJ) has been released from custody, leaving two of his
other colleagues Hamat Bah and Halifa Sallah behind bars. Mr.Jallow an
arch critic of the Jammeh administration has regained his freedom after
spending some hours in police custody.

In a separate development, this paper received reports that prior to his
release from custody, Both OJ and the NRP leader Hamat Bah were detained
at the Mile Two Central Prisons. NADD Coordinator Halifa Sallah is said
to be in the hands of the NIA, at the moment. Highly placed sources say
the President was apparently angered by Halifa's damning condemnation
letter, which was widely publicised in and out side the country. It would
be recalled that Mr.Sallah vehemently condemned what he called Jammeh's
irresponsible comments that the opposition were bent on endangering
Gambia's relation with Senegal.

Meanwhile, sources close to NADD had confirmed the release of OJ. So far
no charges had been brought against the three opposition officials. We
will keep Gambians and friends of The Gambians posted about developments.
