Malanding, you made a good point in that Mbeki has been cuddling Mugabe and is oblivious to the hell in Zimbabwe in favor of a comrade, just like he was aloof about the HIV/AIDS pandemic in SA. South Africa itself is a powder keg for the unfinished business sitting on their lap. They had these issues before Zimbabwe went from bad to worse and the worse just speeded this carnage up. Without the last rush of Zimbabweans to SA, the overwhelming poor in SA were still going to explode. They started with armed robbery and targeting expertrates and other deep pocket internationals. When those folks fortified their domicile, they transitioned to the middle class SA (white, black, you name it). If Lucky Dube is not spared who will? On a good day these same folk would slaughter each other in the townships but that is not the news SA would want to sell unless it happens to a famous person. So, it is not surprising that they spectate and laugh when a poor migrant is being slaughtered

You are absolutely right that Zimbabwe will speed up the chaos to be in SA. We do not see any White SAs acting in this mayhem, have we? That is because the status quo favors them and if there was a freeze on migration to SA, these same very poor and angry folk would still be poor and would still act out at some point. If we reverse the favor to equitable redistribution of the wealth in SA, you will see the West and White SA up in arms. As long as the poverty is restricted to the blacks the west will always say SA is a success story. But for whom? Part of the unimpressive leadership that is Mbeki is self inflicted, but the other unspoken part is the stage that is set for dismal performance for any future leader in SA. If Mandela were still the leader, Mugabe would still be cuddled.

When SA gets a leader that will wrestle the bull by its horns, Zimbabwe will be a safer place, but the west would not like it one bit for their precious gems in both countries will not be as comfortable as they are now. You do not have millions of marginalized folk and be able to contain them indefinitely. It did not work for Apartheid and it certainly will not work for the ANC.

What is happening in SA is really tragic for Africa and the bestiality is really repulsive.

Remember TRC? This is what it results to, the very reason why more than fifty years later the West is still hunting down Nazis, so they will never do it again. Then why would Africans fall for TRC? South Africa is a powder keg waiting to expolde. The victims of Apatheid with severe poverty and lots and lots of anger they have been sitting on are now transitioning from killing each other to the next weakest link in their society - the Migrants. They could not get close to the folks that murdered hunderds and caged them for the West strong armed the government to accept that poison called TRC to protect the butchers. Now they are all armed and barricaded themselves with a right to shoot any intruder. This is really tragic and a reminder that a wrong that is not made right would continue to be wrong and grew into a bigger wrong. These Migrants can't win from what they flew from and they can't win in South Africa either. It may be ok for us to entertain the madness of Yaya, but pay close attention to how an anti foreigner rhethoric can easily fan the flames of bestiality. These pictures can happen any where in Africa. We cannot afford to be silent in the face of injustice any where.> > > > Chi Jaama> > > > Joe> >> >> > ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤> > > > ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤> To unsubscribe/subscribe or view archives of postings, go to the Gambia-L Web interface> at: http://listserv.icors.org/archives/gambia-l.html> > To Search in the Gambia-L archives, go to: http://listserv.icors.org/SCRIPTS/WA-ICORS.EXE?S1=gambia-l> To contact the List Management, please send an e-mail to:> [log in to unmask]> ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤>
