Folks, what's next? Who told these people they can lead us? Where is Assan
Musa's voice regarding the hunger and poverty in the country? Where is his
voice regarding Darbo and co. being detained unjustifiably? Has he said a
word since the presidential elections? Who has been duping these people
that they can just spring up anytime to lead anybody because they are
veterans? It is Assan Musa's business to join any party so, let him spare
us the noise. Now we see all these senile creeps trying to get sticky with
us. First it was Sheriff, then Fafa, and now Assan Musa is on a free agency
bid. Folks, the chicken has come home to roost. The treachery that give
Yaya another five years is consuming itself. Remember, Assan was the tie
breaker that flushed out the true intensions of Sheriff Dibba. Now his is
unfolding. "I have the strength and health", my boots! Please read on.

Will Assan Musa Join APRC?

The chairman of the UDP/PPP/GPP opposition coalition, Assan Musa Camara, has
tendered his resignation to the coalition partners few days ago.

When contacted at his resident in Banjul, Mr Camara confirmed his
resignation and said he was compelled to take his decision over what he
called "opposition disintegration in the country."

He said he "cannot afford to waste his time presiding over a coalition that
cannot bring about unity within the opposition."

Assan Musa Camara who is the head of the Gambia Peoples Party (GPP) revealed
that he is at the moment faced with two options. "I am considering whether
to re-register my party or join any other political party. There is nothing
wrong in joining another party. When I say any party, I don't rule out the
APRC. If I am not engaged in consultancy work, I will continue to
participate actively in politics because I have the strength and health,"
the veteran politician, a former vice president in the First Republic, said.

Mr Camara pointed out that it is unlikely that the opposition will unite and
with that, he has to call it quits. "I was hoping for unity within the
opposition at the beginning and I was called because of that to head the
coalition. I had to take those impromptu decisions because we were to face
the next general elections and the opposition ought to be better prepared
which is now unlikely. From my own assessment of the political situation in
the country, the opposition can poll up to 70 per cent of the votes but they
can never succeed because of disintegration within themselves.

I therefore tendered my resignation notice to the coalition partners. I am
going to join any group that brings about unity within themselves," the
Kantora politico concluded.
