Dear Friends;
By now, many of you know about VOA-TV's new television/radio/Internet simulcast
program, Straight Talk Africa. It debuts tomorrow, August 2, 2000 at 1830 UTC on
SABC-Africa and many VOA affiliates.
Straight Talk Africa will be hosted by veteran journalist Shaka Ssali. Each
week, Shaka and his guests will examine the events and issues shaping the
continent. Themes will include politics, conflict resolution, health and social
issues affecting Africans.
STA's first broacast will focus on Elections in Africa and the progress of
democracy. We will include a live report from the Republican National Convention
underway in Philadelphia.
So... tune in to the broadcast on-the-air or on the web. Then, if you would,
please send me a note with some feedback. This will help us fine-tune the show
for the audience we want to reach - our African viewers and listeners.
STA will be available live and "on-demand" on the Internet. Just click on the
hot link web address below.
Thanks. Diane
