My absence at the 2003 Chicago conference is regretful but inevitable because
of prior engagements. I have received a few phone calls and emails from
scholars who thought I would be in Chicago with something new to share - I regret
the disappointment.
However I thank the organizers for the invitation [via private email] and for
putting together what I heard was a phenomenal program. Keep up the good
work!
